Whats crackin!

I play a Blood Elf Paladin on US Destromath. I am the tank officer and one of the MTs of a guild called Crypt Friends. The history of my tanking career started way back in vanilla wow with the creation of a warrior. My first character was a orc warrior named Wrathizol. I leveled him all the way up and instantly was obsessed with tanking everything I could. My passion was to go into instances and do it better than the last guy.

I became an OT for a guild and progressed as an OT all the way through BWL. Upon entry into AQ40, our MT quit and I moved into that position, MTing all of AQ40 up to Twin Emps. In my spare time, I spent just a few hours in battlegrounds and got to rank 12 (General / Marshal) with my sweet AQ40 bug gear and a Hand of Ragnaros.

When The Burning Crusade came out, I made it to about level 66 before I was tired of the static threat of warriors and the lack of improvement based on leveling, so I rerolled a belf paladin to level with a buddy. I surprisingly fell in love with it instantly. I wanted to be a healer, because my guilds healers were really sub par and it seemed like the most logical thing to do to show them that it wasn’t that hard if you put your mind to it.

After about two weeks at 70, I was our guilds best healer, but we were stuck in Kara, Mag and Gruul, and I wanted more. I applied and was accepted into Crypt Friends in October of 2007, where I quickly became part of the healing team. I was one of our main paladin healers from SSC/TK all the way through pre nerf Mu’ru.

I took a break from wow right around 3.0 and came back when WoLTK came out, with every intention of being a Huntard. I leveled my twink hunter all the way to 80 and started gearing them out, only to have the other officers in Crypt Friends asked me to level my paladin and spec protection to be the blessing of sacntuary bitch, and the rest is history…

    Hello Wrathy!
I enjoy you blog alot, and your gear perspective is something I share. EH is not the only gear a tank should have. In light of that, I was wondering, could you maybe do a writeup on what gear suits best to what boss in TotC? I see the point with a block set on anub, but what about twins, is EH best there, or a dodge set?

It would be great if you could do an article like that 🙂

I myself only raid 10man (sometimes the occational pug25). I have a guild of friends and friends of friends, and we had a good run now with 10man every tuesday. We clear totc in an hourish, and then we spend the rest of the night on hard mode. Last week we got twin valkyrs down, and thats our 3rd week on hard modes. So anub is up now (I hope) this week, and I can finally use my block set 🙂

Sadly there is very little blogs/posts about 10man, I read EJ and an asortement of blogs. But they all focus on 25man. So knowing what BiS gear for 10man and spesifics for gearing scaled to 10man is quite hard to come by.

Anyway, nice blog! keep up the good work, and hope to see my request post sometime in the future 🙂

I’ve just recently came across your blog and I’ve enjoyed reading it very much so. My guild is slowly progressing into 10 and 25 ICC but I’ve been real intrigued on your different tank sets. I’ve been trying to find some good examples and was wondering if you could help me out. I’m the main tank of my guild so I would like some advice if you could. But love your blog enjoy the writing.

On It, I will draft a blog post on the sets i use including Wowhead or chardev profiles, with the caveat that my gear sets change quite frequently as I acquire new gear and theorycraft changes on certain stats, such as expertise.
